Adjacent to the RFK Campus, the DC Department of Energy and Environment is leading an effort to improve Kingman and Heritage Islands, DC’s first state conservation area.
The Kingman and Heritage Islands Trails and Amenities Design Project will enhance access and visitor experience by improving trails and connections on the Islands, creating accessible outdoor classroom and programming spaces and developing new trailside features to support public engagement with the Islands' natural resources.
